Why some gamers are based on feedback?

Whenever I read a video message board some people seem to favor As a test game says instead of making their own opinion. There are also some who play a game no matter what he says a survey (like me). Why are some Gamers trust them so much?

I allowed a review to give me an idea for a game I like. I usually rent first, however, and make my own mind. I agree with IGN a lot of comments, so if a rate of 8 or better game, I will give it a rent. They also tend to buy games from the game publishers that I like, and their games tend to be consistently good (for example, Square-Enix, Level-5, Insomniac, Capcom). So normally I'm buying a Final Fantasy game no matter what kind of comments you have. I wish you had listened to criticism from Final Fantasy 7 – Dirge of Cerberus, a game so I was wrong!
